Gather around the piano with California State Senate candidate Alex Mohajer and five-time Emmy® nominee Tituss Burgess for an evening of music on Sunday, April 16th at 6:00 pm and help support our campaign! We will be joined by Emma Hunton, star of the hit series The Fosters and Broadway’s Wicked, and other stars of stage and screen for a night of show tunes and casual vocal stylings. The event will be hosted at the private residence of Wendy Chang, who serves on the Board of Directors for the Center Theatre Group, and Danny Segura will serve as emcee!
Tituss Burgess is an Emmy-nominated actor and singer who has starred in Broadway musicals like The Little Mermaid, Jersey Boys, and Guys and Dolls. From 2015-2020, he starred in the Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, for which he earned five Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He has appeared in films like Respect, the Aretha Franklin biopic, and Annie Live on NBC. Actress and singer Emma Hunton starred as Elphaba in the first national tour of Wicked and has starred in the hit series The Fosters for the past 5 seasons. Other Broadway credits include Next to Normal and Spring Awakening.
Alex Mohajer is a candidate for California State Senate in the 37th Senate District, representing his hometown of Irvine, CA, and Orange County. He is running to be the only Iranian in the California legislature, the first openly LGBTQ+ person elected to the legislature from Orange County, and the first openly gay Iranian man elected anywhere in the world.
Mohajer is running on a platform of economic dignity for working-class families, public school education, universal healthcare and mental health access, and bold climate change action. He is the direct beneficiary of public school and arts education, having attended K-12 public schools in Irvine, California, UC Berkeley, and has been a lifelong student and patron of music and the arts.
