Members of the Irvine Democratic Club, the oldest Democratic Party club in Irvine, voted on Sunday to support Alex Mohajer for endorsement in his campaign for California State Senate in the 37th Senate District.
Mohajer won 64% of ballots cast, exceeding the threshold required for endorsement, and establishing a commanding win. Other winners of the night included Dave Min, who is vacating the State Senate seat to run for Congress, Farrah Khan for OC Board of Supervisors, Cottie Petrie-Norris for Assembly, and Nancy Watkins for OC School Board.
“I’m honored to have the support of my hometown Democratic Club,” said Mohajer, who was born and raised in Irvine and attended K-12 public schools and community college there. “I’m the product of this community and I hope to do Irvine proud in the state legislature.”
