Academy Award-winning actor and activist Jane Fonda has weighed in on Orange County, CA’s crucial State Senate race
IRVINE, CA — The Jane Fonda Climate PAC, an organization dedicated to electing climate champions up and down the ballot, has endorsed Alex Mohajer for State Senate in Orange County’s 37th Senate District ahead of the March 5 primary election.
“California isn’t moving fast enough to combat the climate crisis, and one of the reasons is because of the stranglehold the fossil fuel industry has on some of our elected officials,” said Jane Fonda, climate activist and Jane Fonda Climate PAC founder. “Alex Mohajer will be a fantastic climate champion who will fight to transition California to a clean energy future and work to protect communities that are being poisoned by toxic fuel pollution. We are thrilled to endorse him.”
“Jane Fonda is a living legend,” said Mohajer. “Period full stop. I am honored to earn the endorsement of Jane Fonda Climate PAC.”
Fonda joins pro-Climate organizations Climate Action California, Courage California, California Working Families Party, and Sunrise Movement Orange County in supporting Mohajer, who announced last March that he would be running to succeed outgoing State Senator Dave Min in the state legislature.
Mohajer, 38, has centered his campaign on getting corporate PAC and fossil fuels money out of the Democratic Party, and introduced a five-point climate platform last year. He is the only candidate in the race to take the No Fossil Fuels Money and No Corporate PAC money pledges.
