Today, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) is endorsing Alex Mohajer for California State Senate, District 37 ahead of the March 5 primary election. Mohajer is one of the PCCC’s first endorsements of the 2024 election cycle.
“Alex Mohajer has built a vibrant, grassroots movement that’s deeply connected to the community and a clear call for the kind of leadership that refuses to yield to the pressures of special interests,” said PCCC Candidate Services Director, Hannah Riddle. “His campaign challenges the status quo and presents a clear choice for the future of the Democratic Party — one that is unencumbered by corporate ties and deeply connected to the needs of the people.”
Founded in 2009, the PCCC is a million-member grassroots organization that supports hundreds of candidates around the country each year. These candidates have a bold vision for their communities, and a strong commitment to fight for working families. PCCC supports endorsed candidates through fundraising, volunteers, training, and voter engagement guides, among other resources. There are over 31,580 PCCC members in California.
Mohajer announced in March 2023 that he would be vying for the seat left vacant by outgoing State Senate Dave Min, who is running for Congress. He is the only candidate in the race to pledge to refuse corporate PAC, fossil fuels, and other special interest money, and has surpassed 10 of the 11 candidates in total fundraising. Mohajer has earned endorsements from CA Working Families Party, Our Revolution, Climate Action California, and others.
